同学们都知道加拿大地域广阔，自然生态环境优越，教育水平在世界上处于领先地位，每年吸引众多国际学生前往求学和深造。但是同学们可能不知道，加拿大联邦政府不设教育部，教育是由各省分别负责，由于各省之间经济发展水平差别较大, 各省建立了适合本地发展、相对独立的教育体制。

加拿大政府认可的高等教育机构主要分为大学和学院。绝大多数大学都是公立的。攻读本科一般需要3-4年时间，硕士研究生需要1-2年，博士研究生需要3年。各类学院侧重培养应用型专业技术人才，一般提供大专文凭和各种证书课程，学制2至3年；部分学校也开设学制1至2年的课程，完成学业后可转入正规大学二、三年级继续攻读本科课程。

目前，在加拿大以公司形式注册的私立学校数以千计，其专业、学科设置和师资配备等尚无有效监控。我们的同学在申请这些私立学校时，务必谨慎，选择中国教育部认可的加拿大高等学府。08年以来，加拿大政府推行了一系列吸引外国留学生的优惠政策，这对保持加拿大在21世纪的经济领导地位是至关重要的。留学加拿大在今年将会持续升温。所以说，加拿大留学签证的办理难度其实不是特别的大，所以这是大部分的中国的家长愿意把自己的孩子送到加拿大读书的最重要的理由。
